Come Paddle with Us!
LOCATION: TBD
Why travel far for an outdoor adventure when you can experience nature in an urban environment right in your own backyard? The Paddle in the City series is brought to you by HERO USA in partnership with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department.
In 2017 and 2018, from August through the end of October, as part of HERO USA's community outreach program, Paddle in the City offered weekly guided kayak, canoe and SUP classes on some of the most scenic portions of the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers.
For 2019, unfortunately, HERO USA is not able to offer individual paddling opportunities this year in downtown Columbus. We can accommodate groups of 10 or more on a pre-scheduled basis if there is availability. Please send an email with details such as date/time/number of desired participants, to groupoutings@herousa.org, if you would like to schedule an event or outing.
Our typical group offering is a 2 hour guided paddle using one of the 3 launch sites in downtown Columbus. All guides are certified instructors. Participants receive a Quick-Start to Paddling Safety course prior to hitting the water.
Also for 2019, we will be adding sunset paddles and opportunities to explore other Columbus waterways so check back soon for additional details about the specific times and dates of our planned paddles as well as changes to the programming.
